311 SPRING TOUR 2008:
Breaking News… 311's Spring Tour now extended!!
311 will soon hit the road for a 24 show Spring Tour, including the band's First Official Tour of Canada!! That's right, 311 has decided to extend the spring tour in order to hit a few more cities that we don't often get to visit including Burlington VT and 7 stops in Canada!! And don't forget about a Friday night in Vegas, and Florida's Langerado Festival with the Beastie Boys! The Spring Tour spans 2/22 - 3/31.

Slightly Stoopid will support 311 on all the Canadian dates!
Opening acts for the US dates will be announced soon. There will be no opener at the 3-11 Day Show in New Orleans.

3-11 DAY SHOW UPDATE:
311's biggest event of the year returns to the great city of NEW ORLEANS on March 11th for 3-11 DAY 2008!!!!

THE ULTIMATE 311 CONCERT EXPERIENCE with special extended set list and special surprises takes place at New Orleans Arena for the biggest & best 3-11 Day celebration yet! 311 will break out all of their classics & rarities for an incredible night of music!!! This is a 311 show like no other!

3-11 Day Tickets sold in a flash! And now 13,000 dedicated 311 fans from around the world will soon converge on New Orleans for good times, good friends, and good tunes!! We have fans attending the show from ALL 50 US STATES and 5 other countries (Japan, Germany, Sweden, Spain, England)! Thank you all for being a part of this special show!
The Arena is within walking distance of 18,000 hotel rooms, the French Quarter (Bourbon Street), and Riverfront Attractions. Be sure to get your hotel rooms in advance! We have a bunch of nearby hotels giving us special "311 Day" group rates; click here for the 3-11 Day Hotel Page and Special Room Rates. 311 - BACK IN THE STUDIO:
311 are back in their Hive Studio in Los Angeles writing, jamming and having a good time exploring new material for their next album. The band have several new song ideas in the works. As you know, making a new album takes time, but the good news is that it's all underway! The band is in the initial writing stage, so there are no song titles, album title or release date at this time. We are still a long ways away from those details, but wheels are turning for new tunes from 311!!

As P-Nut previously stated, “We are playing in the studio's live room and making ideas as we go, and we are planning on going-through those sessions and making songs from them. It's a dream-come-true to be working like this, relaxed and fun. Expect great things.”

Zack Hexum / New CD:
Zack Hexum, younger brother of 311's Nick Hexum, has just released a new album entitled "Open To Close". Influenced by the likes of Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Paul McCartney and Jeff Buckley, Hexum is accomplished on both guitar and saxophone, and has a way with words and with melodies that draw generously from those influences while maintaining his own unique voice.

Tennis great, Venus Williams has won six Grand Slam titles since she turned pro in 1994 at the age of 14. Venus says her favorite album is "311" by 311 and her favorite track by the band is "All Mixed Up." She listened to the song before every match leading up to her singles title at Wimbledon in 2005 stating she identified with the lyrics. "You've got to bet on yourself now star, cause that's your best bet."

Project - New Orleans:
Going to 3-11 Day? Want to partake in a project of positivity for the great city of New Orleans? 311 fans are organizing such a project under the name "311 Fans Care / Project New Orleans". Along with Acorn (the Association for Community Organization and Reforms Now), the project looks to give back to New Orleans by helping build and restore homes in the wake of the Katrina storm devestation. This effort will take place on Monday, March 10 (the day before the big show) as fans are in town for the 3-11 Day celebration. All are welcome. Lots of different tasks to do.
