WORDS FROM THE BAND:

WORDS FROM P-NUT
Bring on the summer! I can't wait, so many shows, so many great American cities, such great musick. I can't wait to feel the energy, this shared collective of positive thoughts and good people, all coupled with musick and summer nights. Thanks for helping us turn our concerts into events: tailgating, meeting up with friends before the show in general and making a day of it, what could be better? You never know what's going to happen at a show. I met my wife while playing Baton Rouge, and we've made friends the world over because of this musick. Keep an open mind and these nights might change your life. The revolution is hear.

WORDS FROM NICK
Are y'all ready for 311???
Morale is at an all time high inside the band after a much needed break. We're really excited and grateful to be embarking on what will likely be our biggest tour ever. It's amazing to see that our fan base keeps growing through grassroots means. Even though the big media machine is not in motion for us, a new generation is getting turned on to our positive vibes. Awesome! We're dusting off some overlooked classics for the tour. Custom picked for summer nights. Really looking forward to sharing the stage with Matisyahu and my friend Dave Wakeling of The English Beat. The Beat has been an influence on me since my high school days. I've got to remember to thank him for the line "cards on the table time" which I realize now that I subconsciously nicked from "I Confess." Haha! Don't be mad!
See ya soon! - Nick
WORDS FROM SA
The stars are aligning. The synaptic neurons flashing. New circuits emerging. The muscle memory is starting to twitch. The left and right mental formation is shape-shifting. We are collecting the data and can prophesize the coming union with the cosmos is about to commence.......Ahhh......... sweet mother of freedom......breathe baby......... smell that air.....taste that night blooming jasmine......can't….fight...this feeling.... Batman............311 Unity Tour Son!!!!!!........ ahhhh....Heaven....

WORDS FROM CHAD
Hi everyone! It's gonna be great to get out there and play shows again. No better time than the summer. These days, live music seems really important and unique in the world. It's like you can copy and paste everything else. But you can't copy and paste the energy at the shows. On film it's just not the same. Lots of different bands this tour! Bringin' different flavors to different parts of the country. Thanks for letting us spread our energy and music. Without you, it would be impossible. It'll be great to see so many positive people in one place again. The world needs it. We've had a lot of time off, but we're rehearsing lots of songs so we will be able and ready to rock. Thanks to all the bands that are joining us on this tour.
Alright, let's do this!
Chad

THE ENGLISH BEAT
Hailing from Birmingham, England, The Beat rushed on to the music scene in 1979, at a time of social, political and musical upheaval. Into this storm came The Beat, trying to calm the waters with their simple message of unity set to a great beat. The band blends soul, reggae, pop and punk, and from these pieces they create an infectious rhythm. Along with their contemporaries The Specials, The Selecter, and Madness, The Beat became one of the most popular and influential bands of the British ska movement. The band has toured the world, with such artists as David Bowie, The Police, REM, The Clash, The Talking Heads, The Pretenders, and The Specials. Be sure to check out this band of musicial history and good-timin'-grooves for yourself! For more info, visit: www.thebeatuk.com
PATO BANTON
Reggae great Pato Banton is going to join The English Beat for eight of the shows this summer!! He's going to join vocals for English Beat songs, a few Pato songs, General Public songs and The Specials songs. Dave Wakeling of the English Beat says, "it should definitely nice up the dance." Yes indeed. The groove just got bigger! Pato will be with the Beat for the shows in: Gilford, New Jersey, New York, Philly, Boston, Cincinnati and Detroit. For more info, visit: www.patobanton.com and www.myspace.com/patobanton
PARTICLE
Forming in 2000, Particle has emerged as one of the hottest up-and-coming acts on the jam-band circuit, playing their techno-flavored funk-rock jams for sold-out crowds across the country. Featuring dualing guitars and electronica beats, Particle provide the groove for your go. The band has played Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits Festival, Coachella, New Orleans Jazzfest and Bonnaroo three times where they played a legendary five plus hour set beginning at 3am. Time to expand your mind and feel the flow! For more info, visit: www.myspace.com/particle and www.particlepeople.com
SHOOTYZ GROOVE
Since forming in the Bronx, New York, in 1992, Shootyz Groove has uniquely mixed hip-hop, rock, reggae, funk and soul into a cutting-edge hybrid sound. "The world is full of ignorance and hate," says Sense. "But we make music against that. We're about kicking positivity, kicking good vibes and spreading love. The lyrics are very positive-minded. Sometimes it's a struggle to even try to be happy in this life, and there are a lot of knuckleheads out there who make it even harder. Our music is about overcoming that and trying to keep a level head." We're ready to rock everyone's head. We see life as a daily mission to J.I.V.E. together and make music. For more info visit:

DIRTY HEADS
Formed in 2003, this Huntington Beach CA quartet are ready to expose their unique blend of reggae, hip-hop, and punk bending sounds; reminiscent of the early freshness of the Beastie Boys, and the rap / reggae innovations of KRS-ONE. From the razor sharp trigger tongue of Rapper Dirty J to Duddy B's deliciously textured beatz and bluntz of the reggae vibe, these soul mates have managed to infuse reggae, rap, hip-hop beats and acoustic guitar into one good time for all! 311 & SURFING PENGUINS?!:
311 recently produced & recorded a version of the Toots & The Maytals classic "Reggae Got Soul" for animated feature film called "Surf's Up" (released June 8). 311's Chad Sexton mixed the song at the band's Hive Studio. 311 had a blast getting back in the Hive together for this project. The movie is an animated feature about surfing penguins, so the band laid down a lively version of the song, complete with a horn section (including Zack Hexum), harmonica, piano and a chorus of 9 to 11 year old kids! The movie is out June 8th in the US and Canada. For more info and the movie trailer visit: www.surfsup.com and to hear 311's song go to www.myspace.com/surfsupsoundtrack.
