3-11 DAY DVD OUT OCTOBER 26TH!!!:
The time has come! On October 26th, 311 will release their 3-11 Day Live Concert DVD!! The double-DVD set called "311 Day 2004 / Live In New Orleans", documents the band's March 11th, 2004 performance at the UNO Lakefront Arena with 5 hours of live concert footage, along with burlesque dancers, stilt walkers, fire eaters and other visual spectaculars!! The DVD also provides a special behind-the-scenes look at the band and their fans, leading up to the big show. The two-disc set includes 64 songs! - all the classic 311 hits plus rarely performed songs like "Juan Bond" and "Let The Cards Fall," as well as covers of The Cure's "Love Song," The Clash's "(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais," and Led Zeppelin's "D'yer Maker." This is the ultimate 311 concert experience.

The packaging for the DVD was designed by Shepard Fairey from Studio Number One in Los Angeles (creator of Obey - Andre the Giant designs).
WHAT’S NEXT:
311 is in the early stages of the writing process for their next studio album. The band will spend October through January writing and rehearsing, then they will record in February and March - followed by mixing and mastering in April. Based on this schedule, we are hoping to release a new album in July 2005. All good things in all good time.

As a result of their recording schedule, 311 has decided that they will not be able to do a 3-11 Day show in 2005. This was a difficult decision, because 3-11 Day is a very special event for the members of the band - but the band feels that they must focus on the writing and recording of the new album as they work towards a summer album release and a summer tour. They are determined to make this next album the best 311 album ever. And they are determined to get the album out by summer so they can embark on a big US Summer Tour.
We know that many of you were hoping for a 3-11 Day show in 2005, but we hope you understand our decision. As you know, 311 has given everything to their fans for the past 14 years. They have recorded and toured like no other band - and they will continue to do so. That is what they live for. Right now the band is getting focused on making their best album yet. So stayed tuned for updates from the studio. And although you don't have a 3-11 Day '05 show to look forward too - luckily, you will have the new 3-11 Day DVD with 64 rockin' songs from 3-11-04 to keep you plenty entertained! We can't wait for you to see & hear it!
HEXUM BROTHERS HIT THE ROAD:
Nick Hexum and his brother, singer/songwriter Zack Hexum, have just announced their upcoming mini-tour throughout the swing states to raise awareness of the coming presidential election. Nick said, "It hit me like a ton of bricks that I wasn't doing enough to help spread the word about the most important election of our lifetimes. I decided I couldn't live with myself if I didn't do everything in my power to help educate voters on what I believe are terrible missteps by the Bush administration and to help inform people about Kerry's clear and concise plan for our country. So I'm going on the road to play some music and spread the word." He added, "We'll be playing intimate club-sized venues and we're keeping the ticket prices really low. It's going to be a great experience. We'll play some 311 songs, some songs from Zack ‘s debut album “The Story So far…” and covers from The Beatles, Radiohead, The Pixies, Billy Joel, Bob Marley &The Clash - and we'll be talking about the election and the need for a regime change in this country. We hit the trail on October 20th."

To clarify, this mini-tour is not a 311 tour - it's a Hexum Brothers tour. Nick will be performing with his brother Zack and Zack's band. We also want to clarify, that the mission of 311 has not changed. 311 has not become a "political" band and they are not planning to make a "political" album. Nick simply wanted to step aside from 311 for a couple weeks to support something that he feels very passionately about. Also, this mini-tour is not just for Kerry supporters - it's for anyone interested in the election, anyone interested in hearing what Nick has to say about the candidates and anyone interested in seeing Nick and his brother play some great songs together. Bush supporters are definitely welcomed and encouraged to attend these shows. Whether you agree with Nick's choice of candidate or not, I'm sure we can all agree that having the right to freely express our beliefs and opinions is one of the greatest things about this great country.
