311 DOES SOUNDTRACK WORK:
On the summer tour, Adam Sandler came out to 311’s show in Orange County, California. He hung out with the band on the tour bus before the show and watched the show from the side of the stage. A few months ago, Adam asked 311 to contribute a song to his upcoming movie “Fifty First Dates” (starring Adam & Drew Barrymore). The movie takes place in Hawaii - so Adam wanted a soundtrack of classic 80’s songs re-created with a reggae-island vibe. 311 covered the Cure’s “Love Song.” Nick also produced a few other songs for the movie and soundtrack, including songs with artists Seal (“Lips Like Sugar”), Jason Mraz (“Melt With You”) and Dryden Mitchell (“Friday I’m In Love”) contributing vocals.

Perhaps you have already heard “Amber” in the movie trailer. If not, check out this player previewing a few songs, the trailer and soon the video: www.hyfntrak.com

Look for “Love Song” to also be included on a special 311 singles collection CD to be released this summer. More on that later.
NEW 311 VIDEO!!:
311 just shot a video for "Love Song” at the tiki bar of Sam's Seafood Hidden Village in Huntington Beach, CA. The video was directed by Mark Kohr, who also directed 311’s videos for “You Wouldn’t Believe” and “Don’t Stay Home”.

“Love Song” was written by The Cure and Lol Tolhurst the original drummer & keyboardist from The Cure's first album in 1978 through “Disintegration” in 1989, dropped by the set to meet the guys and to make a cameo in the video as the bartender. Lol is currently fronting a new project entitled Levinhurst, whose album will be out in late March (www.levinhurst.com).
