SPRING TOUR COMPLETED:
311 have now completed their seven week U.S. Spring Tour across 30 states, coast to coast. THANKS to all the fans and to the opening acts Hoobastank, Grasshopper Takeover, Goldfinger and Zebrahead for making it an amazing journey.

311 had a great time mixing up the set lists and pulling songs out of the vault that so many of you have been waiting to hear. Check out the Set Lists Page to see what songs were played at each show.

Unfortunately we had to cancel the Washington DC show due to Nick's throat infection. We were all disappointed about cancelling the show, but it was our only option due to the severity of Nick's throat condition. In response, here is an email that NICK posted on the 311 Bulletin Board:

Whatsup everyone? Sorry I haven't been on the Bulletin Board in awhile. Lately I have been devoting all my extra time to singing, song writing, and preparing for the shows. Right now, my doctor has forbidden me from even speaking, so at least I can type on the computer. I just want to express my sincere apologies to our fans in DC. This is the first time in nine years of touring we have had to cancel a show due to illness. I would opt to still do the show if it were physically possible, but my voice has given out. I went to the doctor today. He put a small camera up my nose and down my throat to look at my vocal chords. I have a lump on one side of my vocal chords. He said this is swelling due to pushing my voice while I was ill with a sinus and throat infection. He called it acute laryngitis. He said it was imperative that we cancel at least one show so I can heal. We are hoping that the the tour will resume tomorrow in Lockhaven, PA and there will be no more cancellations. I am on a variety of medicines and I feel somewhat better. This whole sickness thing is such a bummer. I was having such a blast at the shows until I got sick in Raleigh. 3-11 Day was perhaps the greatest night of my life. Hopefully I will be back to full strength soon. A setback like this just serves to remind me what an incredible gift being in 311 is. Performing and connecting with all of our wonderful fans is a privilege.
Nick

WHAT'S NEXT?
311 will now take a little time off to write new songs and to relax. In fact, Nick just returned from a week in Jamaica.

In May, 311 will begin working on material for their next record. They already have a handful of ideas, notes and melodies in their heads. Writing will lead to rehearsing back at the band's studio, The Hive, over the summer.

At this time, no tour dates are on the books for the remainder of 2002. After touring for a year and a half throughout the U.S., Europe, and Japan in support of "From Chaos", the band is going to take a break from the road so they can focus on the next record. Stay tuned to the 311 website for any touring updates.

THANKS again to all of you that came out to shows on the From Chaos Tour. We know many of you travel far and wide to rock with 311. Your love of the band is recognized and most appreciated.

LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY:
On Friday, April 26, 311 will invade NBC studios, in Los Angeles, for a performance on "Last Call with Carson Daly". Over 100 fans from the LA Street Team will be selected to be a part of the studio audience. The show is not broadcast live - so stay tuned to the 311 website/bulletin board and to your local tv listings for broadcast information.

3-11 DAY 2002:
On Monday, March 11, 2002...311 returned to New Orleans to stage an even greater 3-11 Day concert event. The sold out show at UNO Lakefront Arena roared with 8,311 rabid fans from around the country who came to celebrate 3-11 Day! Fans from Michigan, Washington, New York, Kentucky, Oregon, Illinois, California, Florida, etc united for a spectacular show. 311 played 59 songs in 3 hours, 47 minutes. The band's longest set ever! 311 played all their classics plus a ton of rarities. Visit the Set List Page for a full listing of songs.

The show also provided plenty of special surprises, including Aerial Acrobats suspended high above the stage, Fire Jugglers / Fire Eaters, Mardi Gras Big Head Paraders (Puss 'n Boots, Peter Pan, Tony Danza), Confetti Cannons, and a massive Balloon Drop of 2,000 colored ballons that filled the air during "Who's Got the Herb".

Here are some thoughts from P-NUT on 3-11 Day:
Damn what a show, what a great group of fans, I think that I am still sore...I can't wait to do it again. It was kind of like all the shows that we've ever played wrapped into one...all the places that we've ever been, all the people that we've seen out on the road...pretty nuts. I love that after all these years, that we can still get people to go crazy and travel all over to see us play a marathon....there's nothing like it....I love my damn life, thanks for everything that you fans do to help us live out our dreams....Be good. Take over the world, that's what it's there for.
P-Nut

New Orleans was a big 311 party in the French Quarter, Friday through Monday night. Fans decked out in 311 t-shirts filled Bourbon Street and sang 311 songs and chanted in the streets. It was wild. Once again, the Mayor of New Orleans presented the band with a plaque proclaiming March 11th as 3-11 Day in New Orleans.

Here are some thoughts from a few FANS on the 3-11 Day show:

I just have to say WOW!!! OMG, I can't even tell you the electricity in the room, the guys were so on! The cool fire dancers and the trapeze ladies were awesome and the band sounded great. I went to the first 3-11 Day show and apart from the arena being so big, this show was the best show EVER!!! The setlist was unbelievable and they went from beginning to end with no stop in the flow. The band went above and beyond and they never cease to amaze me. Everytime I see them I love them more than before. The guys are all great and what they do for their fans is neverending. I can't wait for the 3 shows that I have next week. I swear I never tire of seeing them. Also, it was amazing to walk down Bourbon street and see so many people wearing 311 shirts and chanting 311... the entire weekend. It was unbelievable!
Jessica

One word: WOW. They played for three hours and 45 minutes. Nick let us know before the show started that they were gonna beat the last 3-11 Day record. Once we were at 47 songs (like last time) he let us know (with an announcement from the stage). Completely amazing!...I'm so glad I made it, and damn, wow - incredible!
Linz

My wallet is empty, my throat is sore, and my feet are killing me, but this was indeed the best weekend of my life! Thank you 311, thank you Rasplers, and thank you to all the cool peeps out there that made this weekend so much fun! Rockin to 311 for life!
