HELLO FRIENDS!!... 311 IS BACK!!
New Album. New Tour. And many good times ahead!!

BREAKING NEWS…NEW ALBUM INFO:
311 is putting the finishing touches on their new album, now titled, UPLIFTER.

The album was produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, etc) and recorded at the band’s Hive Studio in North Hollywood.

311 finished recording on January 25th and are now busy mixing the new songs.

A firm release date for UPLIFTER has not been set yet, but we anticipate the album will be released in late Spring. The finished album will likely feature 11 or 12 new songs.

BREAKING NEWS…TOUR PLANS:
311 will embark on a US SPRING TOUR from MID-APRIL to MID-MAY! The Tour will be a combination of festival shows, radio shows and theatre/club shows.

311 will also hit the road on their SUMMER UNITY TOUR! The Unity Tour, of mostly amphitheatres, will begin in early-JUNE!

We’ll post tour dates and support bands for both the Spring and Summer Tours as soon as we have confirmations.

Greetings friends. ’09 is off to an amazing start. There is an exciting vibe around the studio now that we have completed recording our new album, Uplifter. It’s a similar feeling among the band members to the one we had after recording Music and the Blue album. People ask me which of our previous albums I could compare our new record to. That’s hard to do, but I can definitely say that we feel like we have kicked ass and really made the very best album that we are capable of at this time. We really took the time to finish this album and explore every idea to the very end. Working without a strict deadline really paid off. Our partnership with Bob Rock has been fantastic. I’ve never enjoyed working with any producer so much. He’s brilliant. His ideas and knowledge are staggering. He’s a walking encyclopedia. He’s a good listener. His work with so many other bands has taught him how to cooperate well and it’s been a good influence on us. I can’t say enough good things about him. What does the album sound like? The title really fits the uplifting nature of the new music. To me, the music is positive and fun. It reflects the mind state we were in when we made it. We were in a good place. There are themes of personal struggle in the songs, but as always with 311, there is a resolution. No wallowing in self-pity for us. There are songs about relationships. Straight from the heart. There is a trio of songs on the album that are about what it’s like to be in this band. There’s a balls-to-the-wall burner about the fun of touring. It’s a thank you to the fans that is destined to be an anthem. There’s a heavy song about the magic of creativity. One song is an ode to music itself. Music is our constant companion and personally, I’d be fucked without it. I’m so excited for you all to hear the album and to rock the songs live this spring & summer! Much love. - Nick

Hey all, happy belated new year. Things are shaping up nicely in 311 world. We’ve just finished what is perhaps our finest album yet. I can’t believe more than three years have passed since our last record and that we are on the verge of releasing our NINTH album. Wow. What a ride it’s been and it’s all possible from the support we receive from the best fans in the cosmos. That’s right. I’m going to include any and all civilizations that are out there. Honestly though, thank you. It is a true symbiotic relationship we share. On the touring front – well, you know how we do. We’re going to bring it and rock and continue to refine. Transforming as always with substance AND style because it is REAL and there is no way to stop it. Sharing music and celebrating this thing called life. Sounds like a 311 show to me. Who’s in?

I can’t remember having as much fun making a record. I’ve learned a lot working with Bob. We’ve really grown as a band, and hopefully it shows on this album.

We have just finished up the recording. This album will crush. Throughout this collection of songs you are going to hear inspiration, invention and power. I believe with Bob Rock’s help, we’ve actualized the best album we are capable of. What else can I say? This has been a super-fun recording experience. UPLIFTER BACKSTORY:
In May of 2008, 311 entered the band’s Hive Studio with esteemed producer Bob Rock to begin work on their ninth studio album.

In June, after recording a batch of new songs with Bob, 311 left the studio to headline their summer Unity Tour, with support from Snoop Dogg and Fiction Plane.

Upon completion of the tour in August, 311 and Bob Rock returned to the Hive to continue work on the new album. Energized from a fantastic summer tour, the band carried a high-spirited momentum into the studio, which poured into the new recordings.

311 are super excited about the new songs and look forward to sharing them with you soon!! We’ll keep you informed as the song titles and album release date are confirmed.
