311 entered the studio on May 1st with esteemed producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, The Offspring, Bon Jovi, Lostprophets, The Cult, etc.) to begin recording the new album!! No album title, song titles, or release date is known at this time. This is the early stages of a long process. 311 will record the new album in two sessions; the first session before Summer Tour and the second session after Summer Tour.  So far all is going amazingly well in the studio with 311 & Bob. The band couldn't be happier with the way the album is coming together. The band's summer Unity Tour spans June 24 - Aug 16.  Look for the new album to be released hopefully in late Spring 2009. All good things, in all good time!

    Not a better feeling then to hear raw new material from the greatest live band in the world!!! What I would do to witness those studio sessions, like sweet nectar from the god of music. ROCK ON !311!

    I think I speak on behalf of all the true 311 fans when I say that I hope this next record rocks out similarly to the old stuff. I miss the sound of transistor, grassroots, soundsystem, the blue album especially and that core 311 sound that put these guys on the map. I respect the fact that they experimented with a softer sound and let esay sing a little bit but I am longing for another album that I can blast in my car and jump around to at shows. I hope you guys see the need to make another album like that because we are all very excited for it! I love you guys and am looking forward to the new stuff its been way too long.

    no matter what happens. it is garunteed that the new cd will be the shiiiitttttttt. 311 doesnt know how to to make a bad album and it will never happen. 311 is the BEST EVERRRR

    For any fan who says 311 sold out let me tell you something you may not know....music is about self discovery and as a musician if you remain the same you will enclose yourself and cut off the world. Wake up, dont hate just relax and create!

    i love all 311 albums, and i dont think we should wish for "music" or "grassroots". the last two albums were alot different but i think it shows how 311 has matured as people and musicians, and we should be grateful that we can experience that with all of the guys from 311!!!

    OMFG!!! I cannot wait for you guys to make another CD!! I am your biggest fan!! I love you guys so much!! Your shows are phenomenal. Orgasmic if you will. 311 Day was the most fun Ive ever had. The energy of the entire city was tangible. 311 is the only music I have,need or want to listen to. I love your positive messages with your witty sense of humor and your eclectic sound!!!!     Any 311 album is an album of mine. I am going to find out when my nearest electronic/cd store opens on new release day and I don't care if I have to skip school. I am going to be there so I can get that damn album. 311 is probably the best thing to ever happen to me. If anyone ever listen to one of there songs, they always think of mesun!

    i agree with enlight311, transistor was great. Creature Feature is amazing! but i dont think they should make a "transistor 2". i hope they go old school 311. like "Music" or "Grassroots" with some dirty Omaha Stylee

    Just letting you know "Seal the Deal" was a demo from Soundsystem... the web-site even has it on the Media links. So its not a new song... maybe they revamped it and are going to release it on the new album. Either way i cant fucking wait for it, hopefully they are going to keep changing their style and having us all go crazy at their shows
